Tulisa Contostavlos is moved to tears in tonight's X Factor after one contestant's barnstorming performance.
Mother-of-four Michelle Barrett tells the judges in Cardiff how she "never gave up" on her dreams of stardom despite the pressures of family life, before launching into Whitney Houston's All The Man I Need.
A tearful Tulisa tells the 31-year-old, from Leixlip in Co Kildare, that her performance reminds her of her own mother.
She said: "Me and my mum have got this really powerful relationship - she's the reason that I sing.
"She had the most powerful voice and never did anything with it - you know, she had me, she became unwell and then, you know, she spent her life still singing in the kitchen, and I wish she'd got up and done that because she has a voice just like that. Amazing. I can't believe I just got that emotional."
Michelle also impresses the other judges, withKelly Rowland praising the "raspy-ness" of her voice and Louis Walsh telling her: "It was certainly good enough for me".
N-Dubz star Tulisa made a BBC3 documentary about life with her mother who suffered from a schizoaffective disorder and has spoken out about what life is like for young people with a mentally ill parent
