A man is in a serious condition in hospital after he was assaulted outside a church in Co. Mayo this morning.
It is understood a fight broke out amongst a number of people standing outside a funeral home in Claremorris at around 10.30.
One man suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mayo General Hospital.
Six men have been arrested and are being held at Claremorris Garda Station, under Section four of the Criminal Justice Act
