Gardaí investigating organised crime and drugs in east Cork have seized a handgun.
The firearm was discovered during a number of searches in the east Cork area in recent days. The firearm has been sent to the technical bureau for forensic examination.
Gardaí say nobody had been arrested in connection with the find but investigations are ongoing.
