Three-time All-Star Ronan Curran has been named in the Cork team for Saturday's All-Ireland SHC third phase qualifier against Galway at the Gaelic Grounds (throw-in 4pm).
It will be Curran's first start of the 2011 Championship, following his recovery from the knee injury which sidelined him for much of the campaign so far.
The St. Finbarr's clubman was used as a second half substitute in Cork's narrow qualifier win over Offaly two weeks ago. For this weekend's encounter, he comes in at centre-back with William Egan moving to midfield to replace the suspended Pa Cronin.
Curran's recall is the only personnel change that manager Denis Walsh has made to the side, with centre-fielder Jerry O'Connor and centre-forward Cian McCarthy holding onto their starting berths.
Dual player Eoin Cadogan will line out again at full-back, just six days after a 26-minute run-out for the Cork footballers in their Munster final defeat to Kerry.
Cork have beaten Galway 26 times in their 31 previous Championship meetings, and Walsh's charges ran out 1-20 to 1-17 winners when the sides faced each other in this year's Allianz Hurling League at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
CORK (SHC v Galway): Donal Óg Cusack; Stephen McDonnell, Eoin Cadogan, Brian Murphy; John Gardiner, Ronan Curran, Shane O'Neill (capt); Jerry O'Connor, William Egan; Ben O'Connor, Cian McCarthy, Niall McCarthy; Luke O'Farrell, Paudie O'Sullivan, Patrick Horgan.
Subs: Martin Coleman, Eoin Dillon, Shane Murphy, James Nagle, Lorcan McLoughlin, Cathal Naughton, Bill Cooper, Jamie Coughlan, Kieran Murphy, Conor Lehane, Michael Cussen
