10 reasons to visit Ireland
Being away from home its nice, and i enjoy, being able to write a little about Ireland. I have decided to write this hub to give people an idea of different events happening across Ireland in the next few months. Some of you may be travelling there on holidays. If you are have a fab time and tell them all i was asking for them!!!!!!!!!
1. The Leinster Fleadh Ceoil. July 4 - 10 in Portlaois, Co. Laois.
the annual leinster fleadh takes place in Portlaois from 4 - 10 july. I have been to a few of these and they are fantastic. Traditional Irish Music and Dancing in the Pubs and out onto the streets. The final weekend will culminate with a street party including face painting for the kids.
2. Dunmore East Blue Grass Festival. 26-28 August
Dunmore East is a Scenic Fishing Village on the South East Coast of Ireland. Every year it is thronged with people over the August Bank Holiday Weekend for the Blue Grass Festival. Revellers from far and near come together to play and listen to Blue Grass Music.
3.The Tall Ships Race June 30 - July 3
Over 70 tall ships return to Waterford for the tall ships race. They are accompanied by street theatre, ship parades, fireworks, good food and drink.
4. Galway Arts Festival, 11 - 24 July
An abundance of Dance, Spectacle, Visual Arts, Music and Theatre. Irelands Brightest and Biggest Arts Festival.
5. Oxegen, Punchestown Race Course Naas, 8 - 10 July
The Killers, Eminem and Kings of Leon are but a few of the Biggest Artists woldwide who have played Oxegen. Always combining an unbeatable atmosphere with a steller line up. Bring your wellies for this outdoor gig.
6. Birr Vintage Week and Arts Festival, 5 - 12 August.
For those interested in all things vintage this is a must see. One of Irelands largest vintage collections will be on display combined with fine art displays, live music and nightly entertainment.
7. Tullamore Show and AIB National Livestock Show, 14 August
This one day event attracts attention from all over the world with a huge number of outdoor displays and attractions. Held in the surrounds of Charleville Castle Estate it is one of the Largest Summer Shows in Ireland and definately worth a visit.
8. Rose of Tralee International Festival, 19 - 23 August.
Much loved and World Reknowned Festival in Co. Kerry. Including Music, Parades and Fireworks.
9. Cape Clear Island International Storytelling Festival, 2 - 4 September
A unique storytelling festival. Set against the stunning scenery of Cape Clear Island Storytelling is celebrated with performances, workshops, tales in island homes and hostels and story-swaps late into the night.
10. Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival, 29 Sep - 16 Oct
An array of Irish and International Theatre, Readings, Rehearsals and Discussions throught Dublins most Famous and Unique Theatres.
