The Tánaiste has told a conference of trade unionists in Kerry today that reform of the public service is imperative if the economy is to improve.
During a speech at the Irish Congress of Trade Unions biennial conference in Killarney, Eamon Gilmore said the Government was on a war footing, with our economic sovereignty at stake.
Mr Gilmore said the Government's Spending Review would result in a leaner, reformed public service that would have the confidence of the people
