Championship debutants Conor Allis and Shane Dowling have been named in the half-forward line for Limerick's Munster SHC quarter-final against Tipperary.
The pair will start alongside captain David Breen in Sunday's provincial clash at Semple Stadium (throw-in 4pm), with the game marking John Allen's Championship bow as Limerick boss.
Allis and teenager Dowling were both members of last year's Limerick Under-21 team that claimed the Munster title. Their colleague from that side, Declan Hannon, has recovered sufficiently from a groin strain to be listed among the substitutes for the Tipp tie.
Another of the county's U-21 stars, Kevin Downes, will line out at full-forward with the experienced Niall Moran missing out.
Richie McCarthy slots in at full-back - ahead of the benched Brian Geary - having played in attack against Waterford in last summer's Munster Championship.
Regular midfielder Donal O'Grady has been moved to the centre-back role with James Ryan partnering Paul Browne in centre-field.
O'Grady is the only surviving member of the Limerick team that beat Tipp in their last Munster Championship encounter back in 2007 - that 0-22 to 2-13 extra-time victory was the final game of an epic three-match tussle between the counties.
Meanwhile, selector Eamonn Meskell is backing the youngsters to shine on the big stage, telling the Limerick Leader: "From Limerick hurling’s point of view it is great to now have a team with a bit of youth and the blend of experience,” he explained.
“They are quite lads but they have a sense of presence, we are going out next Sunday and will put our best foot forward. Of course we are playing a fine team in Tipperary but we don’t have any fears.
"I think it is great for Limerick that we have a fine team with a mix and some great youth coming through. It’s an exciting team with all this talent - a nice time to be involved."
