A former CIE bus driver is facing a substantial term in prison for soliciting two undercover gardaí to import cocaine from Brazil.
Sunny Idah, who has addresses in London and at Lipton Court, Temple Bar, Dublin is to be sentenced today at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on two charges dating back to September 2010.
Sunny Idah used the name Teamor while soliciting 2 undercover gardaí to act as drug mules.
They were to travel to Rio de Janeiro where for 5 thousand euro a head they were each to swallow a kilo of cocaine pellets for import back to Ireland.
The gardaí used a hidden audio device to record their phone calls and meetings.
The investigation was initiated by a tip off from an undercover Swiss police agent posing as a drugs supplier.
The court heard following his conviction last month that Sunny Idah was part of a very advanced international drugs operation.
The 36 year old who has dual Irish and Nigerian citizenship will have his sentence finalised today
